개강총회 및 신입생 환영회에 참석해 주신 모든 분들께 감사드리며, 유익한 시간이 되셨기를 바랍니다.

다음 주 토요일(24일)에는 가을 소풍이 있습니다. 가을 소풍은 재미과학자 협회의 후원으로 매년 진행되는 행사이며 교내의 환영행사와 달리 타학교 공대(NYU-Polytech, Stevens Tech, Queens College, NJIT) 학생분들과 졸업생분들, 및 IBM 직원분들께서 오셔서 취업이나 박사지원, 미국 생활등 다양한 정보 공유 및 운동과 소픙, 바베큐를 겸할 수 있는 좋은 자리 입니다.

올해에는 배구, 족구, 그리고 소프트볼 토너먼트에서 좋은 성적을 거둘 수 있도록 선수님들의 참여를 꼭 부탁드립니다. 다양한 경품도 준비될 예정입니다. 답답하고 복잡한 도시를 잠시 떠나 자연을 느낄 수 있는 좋은 기회를 놓치지 마시기 바랍니다.

First, we would like to thank everyone who attended our welcoming party on last Thursday and we hope it was beneficial in many different ways. For those who were not able to make it to the meeting, we wish you can join us on next year’s welcoming party or other upcoming events.

On next Saturday (Sept. 24th), there is going to be a fall picnic! This picnic is an annual event sponsored by Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association very year. Unlike other on-campusevents, we have students and alumni from other engineering schools (such asNYU-Polytech, Stevens Tech, NJIT, and Queens College) and possibly some IBM employees coming to this picnic so we believe this could be a great opportunity for you to get to know each other and gather some information on applying to PhD programs or getting a job in the U.S. There’s also going to be a volleyball tournament, a Jok-gu tournament and a softball tournament so we hope to see asmany players as possible at the event. (AND YES, we do have prizes for the winners for the each tournament!!)
